SKYBRIDGE MICHIGAN
Designed and built by Experiential Resources (ERi), SkyBridge Michigan is the longest timber-towered suspension bridge in the world. Located in Boyne Falls, MI, and sister bridge to the Gatlinburg SkyBridge at Gatlinburg SkyPark, SkyBridge Michigan is on track to be "Michigan's second bridge", offering unparalleled views of northern Michigan.
The bridge is located at Boyne Mountain Resort between the peaks of McLouth and Disciples Ridge. Guests will ride one of several chairlifts to the mountain’s top, then take a walk along the exhilarating 1,023-foot long, 118-foot high suspended deck. The overall bridge structure is 1,200’ long including the towers and abutments, and connects to Boyne Mountain’s extensive paved trail system. Experiential Resources ("ERi") is also the builder of SkyBridge Michigan. Additionally, we have to acknowledge our appreciation for the collaboration between ERi and multiple talented subcontractors with whom we absolutely enjoyed creating this project.
+ When will SkyBridge Michigan be open?
SkyBridge Michigan will be open to the public 15 October 2022. Keep an eye on the Boyne Mountain Resort website for updates and information, how to get tickets, etc.
+ Is SkyBridge Michigan longer than the Gatlinburg SkyBridge?
With a suspended walking deck length of 1,023 feet / 312 meters (not including towers or cable anchors), SkyBridge Michigan is about 343 feet / 104.5 meters longer than the Gatlinburg SkyBridge. Since it is a different type of bridge than SkyBridge Michigan, though, the Gatlinburg SkyBridge will still retain it's record as the longest simple suspension pedestrian bridge in North America.
